Design and build

I rebuilt the LAZ Press website as a production Next.js site that feels like the print it sells: CMYK colour bars, a stack of printed sheets in the hero, and a process told in five ink colours.

  • Brand system in plain CSS variables, matched to the original identity
  • Hero with an animated print stack illustration
  • Six-card services grid and a five-step CMYK process, both data-driven
  • Editorial gallery of printed work and a client quote
  • Deploy to Cloudflare Workers on the laz-press.com domain

What it does

  1. 01

    Services

Offset printing, digital printing, large format, packaging and bookbinding, each on its own card.

  2. 02

    The process

Brief and quote, files and preflight, proof and sign-off, print and finish, pack and deliver, laid out as a CMYK timeline.

  3. 03

    Work gallery

Editorial tiles of real printed jobs: company profiles, roll-ups, packaging.

  4. 04

    Quotes and uploads

Calls to action for an instant quote and an artwork upload from every section.

  5. 05

    A cursor and reveals

A smooth-tracking dot that grows over links, and fade-up reveals on scroll.

How it was built

  1. Next.js 15 App Router

React 19 and TypeScript, one component per section: CMYK rule, nav, ticker, hero, logos, services, process, work, quote.

  2. No framework CSS

Vanilla CSS with variables, so the brand system stays exactly the original. Fonts self-hosted with next/font for zero layout shift, and the logo through next/image.

  3. Cloudflare Workers

Built with OpenNext and deployed with Wrangler, served on laz-press.com and www.laz-press.com as custom domains, with observability on.
